For the complete range of steak knives, forks, grilling accessories and cutting and serving boards, Tramontina exclusively uses FSC-certified wood mainly from its own forests in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and Pará. The project places a strong emphasis on environmental protection and sustainability. For the handles of knives and forks, Tramontina developed a special production technology more than 30 years ago, which is constantly being improved. In our own production plants, pine wood is processed by successive layering, impregnated with special resins and then compressed under the influence of heat. With this technology, the layers of wood and pores are tightly closed, which prevents moisture from penetrating into the wood. In the next phase, the wood is shaped into the appropriate shape and varnished. The result is impact resistance, high thermal adaptability, the products are suitable for washing in dishwashers with a five-year warranty against defects.
