The filtration technology of Brita Maxtra + Pure Performance filters is based on purely natural technology. The filter housing is made of recyclable plastic, which does not contain BPA and is designed for permanent contact with water. The filter mixture inside the filter consists of an ion exchanger in the form of synthetic resin and activated carbon microparticles, which are made from coconut shells.

How does water filtration work with Brita Maxtra + Pure Performance filters?
Unfiltered drinking water flows through the inlet into the filter. The fine sieve captures coarse particles - organic impurities. Subsequently, the water comes into contact with the filter mixture itself, which contains primarily 2 components. A resin that, as an ion exchanger, reduces the carbonate hardness of water (limescale) and absorbs heavy metals (lead, copper). Activated carbon - when water comes into contact with activated carbon microparticles, there is a significant reduction in substances that negatively affect the taste and smell of water - especially chlorine, pesticides and herbicides, which are trapped on the porous surface of activated carbon microparticles (Micro Carbon Pearls). The extra fine grid on the underside of the filter prevents small particles of the filter mixture from being released into the already filtered water.
